Learning outcomes

Once completed the course, the student has acquired the ability to recognize the testimonial and socio-cultural value of architectural elements and urban contexts. In particular, the student is able to: - document the reasons and the potential for transformation compliant with their protection - envisage transformative scenarios considering the evolution of relationships, communications, productive streams in several areas.

The Italian post-war historic city as a counter-model for urban development

Bologna

The cities in Romagna

Venice

Florence

Milan

After a general introductory lecture, each city will be presented with a lecture and then visited on a study trip.

Readings/Bibliography

Bibliographic references and related materials will be provided lesson by lesson on MIRO

Ex-cathedra lectures.

Exercise in critical reading of architecture and the city.

Study Trips.

Assessment methods

The exercises will be assessed during the year and will contribute to the final grade.
The final examination will consist of an interview aimed at verifying knowledge of what was presented in the classroom and what is contained in the bibliographical materials deposited on MIRO.
