Teaching methods

Experiential learning – Students acquire practical skills through direct involvement in care activities under the supervision of experienced midwife tutors.

Observation and progressive participation – Initially, students observe activities and are then gradually involved in performing procedures under supervision, progressing toward greater autonomy.

Assessment methods

During the internship, learning is monitored through:

Daily activity log: the student documents activities carried out, cases followed, and personal reflections. The tutor evaluates the student’s level of autonomy in the activities performed and suggests possible improvements.

Ongoing evaluation form: completed by the clinical tutor or internship supervisor to monitor progress.

Direct observation: the tutor evaluates technical, relational, and decision-making skills.

At the end of the internship period, learning is assessed through:

Final evaluation form: the tutor assigns a grade based on the competencies acquired, the level of professionalism, and the student’s autonomy.

 Internship exam, which includes:

 a) a PowerPoint presentation on a topic chosen by the student, presented in a plenary session

 b) a practical test involving the simulation of a realistic scenario, designed to assess the achievement of the course objectives and the ability to communicate effectively with care recipients.

During the exam, the committee will pay particular attention to the use of appropriate technical and scientific language.

The final evaluation will take into account the internship experiences completed.
