Learning outcomes
At the end of the module the student knows the main nursing care delivery models in different care settings. Identifies the main competences of other members of the nursing team and relates them to his/her own competences. Identifies the organisational principles of continuity of care, roles and system of responsibilities using the clinical governance approach.
Course contents
From healthcare policies to work organisation
-Organisation of National Health Service (SSN) systems in Italy (Azienda, IRCSS)
- Organisational models for hospital and local meso-systems (hospitals by intensity of care)
- Organisational models for unit care (by tasks, functions, sectors, small teams, primary care, case managers).
- Care models in relation to the needs/expectations of users, operators and services.
- Shift work (regulations and models)
- Definition of care priorities and tools to ensure care (deferrability/non-deferrability of interventions).
- Time management
- Compromised care (Missed Nursing Care/Unfinished Nursing Care)
