Learning outcomes

The student is expected to learn tools and methods to manage visual arts organizations. In particular, the student is expected to: - Understand the role of public sector in increasing the value of cultural heritage and the arts - Learn more about international arts markets - Think about contemporary art as a way of local development - Create and develop innovative visual arts projects.

Course contents

In this course, students will have the opportunity to learn and explore a wide range of issues related to the creation of a site-specific exhibition, including design, production of contemporary art installations, curation, marketing, sponsorship, and exhibition design.

Participants will explore the many aspects of creating a participatory exhibition in a public space, developing their creative thinking and acquiring hands-on skills in creating a collaborative work.

Project Notes:

  • Each lecture is preparatory to the development of the exhibition project;

  • Classroom lectures are dedicated to project knowledge, idea exchange and brainstorming;

  • Work is organized in teams with task division among participants, in order to enhance everyone's personal skills;

  • Lectures at Studio Antonello Ghezzi are dedicated to artwork production;

  • The installation and exhibition take place at Biblioteca Bigiavi;

  • The course concludes with the official opening of the exhibition.

Assessment methods

The aim of the course is to create, promote and inaugurate the exhibition, created collectively.
