Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student: knows the main chronic metabolic, oncological and neurodegenerative diseases, thus allowing to improve prevention and monitor its evolution.

Course contents

Epidemiology, physiopathology, clinical aspects, diagnostic approaches, and therapeutic options for major chronic diseases:
Cardiovascular Pathologies
Metabolic Pathologies
Neurodegenerative Pathologies
Respiratory Pathologies
Chronic Infectious Pathologies
Oncological Pathologies.

Final Laboratory with advanced humanoid simulators for practical exercises on: Vital Parameters, ECG, intramuscular administrations, BLS (Basic Life Support).

Lectures and practical laboratory exercises.

Assessment methods

Written exam (quiz)

In order to take the examination, the student must have attended at least 80% of the laboratory exercises and 70% of the lectures. Students are reminded to check the prerequisites listed in the course structure diagram.
