Learning outcomes

The student acknowledge the ethical problems and is able to use the fundamental strategies of dialogue interpreting and to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of dialogic interpretation in complex communicative situations.


Course contents

The course of Dialogue interpreting II will continue with the consolidation of students' linguistic competence and the improvement of intercultural awareness and communication skills, so that students become able to deal with communicative situations at intermediate difficulty level.

The course also includes 20 hours of lecture with a chinese native teacher.

Teaching methods

In addition to lectures focused on grammatical and lexical aspects, students will actively take part in role-plays of mediation between chinese and italian, with topics covered during the lessons. Moreover, writing tasks will also be assigned to students, to be accomplished independently and handed in to the teacher for correction.


Assessment methods

The exam consists of a written test and an oral test.

The written test will consist of a short essay, which the student will have to write based on the topics covered during the course.

For the oral part, student will have to tackle a short mediation test with topics and vocabolaries learnt during the semester.

 

 

Score scale:

30-30 L: student demonstrates excellent acquisition of all the grammatical topics and a high level of communication skills in Chinese.

27-29: in despite of some minor errors, the students shows a good level of linguistic knowledge and communication skills.

24-26: student demonstrates a good knowledge of the main grammatical topics and is able to communicate in chinese, though with some errors and lacks.

21-23: student demonstrates major problems and imprecisions in language acquisition and comunication skills.

18–20: student demonstrate a superficial understanding of the main topics, with major grammatical, lexical or phonological errors and evident difficolties in communication.

Fail: basic knowledge has not been acquired, student is unable to complete the test.
