Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student must know complex statistical analysis methods and be able to critically interpret their results.

- Basic statistical elements: continuous and categorical variables
- Frequency measures
- Association measures, their meaning and interpretation
- Statistical inference; meaning and interpretation of confidence intervals
- Verification of hypotheses within studies
- Interpretation of the p-values; statistical power
- Meta-analyses
- Number needed to treat and Number needed to harm
- Standardization of rates
- Methods for the creation and management of databases
- Presentation of the results of a study
