Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students will: Know the principles of biomedical ethics and will be able to identify the ethical dilemmas they may encounter in clinical practice

Course contents

1. Introduction to bioethics, ethical dilemmas and practical dilemmas, ethical theories

2. Ethics of the four principles, principle of autonomy

3. Beneficence and non-maleficence

4. Justice and other rules and virtues relevant to the care relationship

During the course, the teaching material will be provided and the presentations of the lessons will be available on Virtuale.

Lessons, casework discussion.

Assessment methods

The exam will consist of a single test covering all three modules of the course.

Students will have 30 minutes to complete the task, and the outcome will be either PASSED or NOT PASSED.

For this module, students will be asked to present an ethical dilemma related to the biomedical field of their choice, explaining the principles and rules in conflict.

Passing the exam will be based on the accuracy, completeness, appropriateness, and clarity of the response.
