Learning outcomes
- Knowing the terminology underlying special pedagogy (deficit, handicap, person with disabilities, pupils with special educational needs, integration, inclusion, life plan)
- Knowing the main reference legislation for the integration/inclusion of students with BES
- Analyzing the main integration/inclusion models (medical, social, anthropological, biopsycho-social)
- Knowing the "umbrella terms" of functioning, health and disability according to a biopsycho-social vision
- Knowing what is meant by barriers and facilitators
- Critically analyzing the organization of learning environments in order to identify barriers and facilitators for the inclusion of pupils with special educational needs
- Knowing the Universal Design for Learning approach
- Knowing the role of the curriculum teacher in the development of the Individualized Educational Plan
- Knowing the models of Individualized Educational Plans relating to secondary school
- Knowing the models of Personalized Teaching Plans relating to secondary school
Course contents
- Special Pedagogy and the reference terminology: historical evolution.
- The concept of inclusion and specific policies for pupils with SEN
- Integration models and the biopsychosocial model (ICF)
- School organization for inclusion: barriers and facilitators
- Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) models for secondary schools and the role of the curricular teacher
- Personalized Teaching Project (PDP) models for secondary school.
