Learning outcomes
By the end of the course the student will have learned about the main methodologies and the most important publications available within the scope of digital history, with particular regard for the documents on the contemporary age. The student will be able to critically analyse projects and publications within the scope of digital history and, more in general, to move consciously within the scope of the Digital Humanities.
Course contents
The course consists of two segments.
The first segment will provide a general overview of the methodology of historical research by examining the most influential books in historiography.
The second part will look at the changing practice of doing history in the digital age and new ways for historians to share the results of their research with peers and with non-professionals. In addition we will explore the changing nature of historical sources in the digital age.
