Learning outcomes

M-PSI/05: At the end of the activity students will know: how to apply community psychology methods and principles in the development of a community based project, focusing in particular on stakeholder analysis, problem analysis, analysis and definition of objectives, definition of an evaluation plan.

M-PSI/08: At the end of the classes, students will be able to carry out an appropriate assessment and will know how to apply the correct clinical methodology according to the single clinical case.

Course contents

M-PSI/05: During Community Psychology Lab students will have the opportunity to apply community psychology method and tools and use them to develop health promotion/ community intervention projects.Topics covered during classes will be the following: principles and theoretical models of project and intervention design; participatory methods for project and intervention design (Photovoice, focus groups); applied project and intervention design with LGBT.

Teaching methods

M-PSI/05: Teaching methods include lessons, group work, guided discussions, case studies, and writing an intervention proposal.

M-PSI/08: Theoretical contents will be supported and integrated with: practical applications, clinical scenarios, videos on clinical assessment, role-playing.

Assessment methods

M-PSI/05: Active participation to the activities proposed during classes, and full attendance are essential in order to be admitted to the final examination. Signatures will be taken at the beginning and at the end of each class. Preparation will be assessed using a multiple choice test that will last 45 minutes and will take place during the last class scheduled. Readings and topics must be prepared in advance.

M-PSI/08: The final evaluation will consist in a written exam (a short composition) aimed to assess the student's knowledge regarding the topics discussed in class. Each student may be absent for up to 4 hours of the total 30hours. If the student exceeds the 4 hours of absence, he/she will NOT be allowed to take the final exam.
