Course contents

The aim of this course is to provide the principles for the interpretation of the financial statements main dimensions and dynamics.
Through the tools of financial analysis the students will be able to capture the meaning of the economic information behind the numbers.
A specific attention will be given to the effective business analysis and decision making by analysts, investors, managers, and other stakeholders of the organizations whose choices can be properly supported by the financial statements analysis.
The course's topics include the assessment of reformulated balance sheets and related ratios, reformulated income statements and related ratios, and cash flows.

Further selected readings and case studies will be distributed during the course; a detailed syllabus will be delivered to the students at the beginning of the classes.

Teaching methods

Lectures, seminars, and case studies.

Assessment methods

The assessment will combine individual and/or team works assignments, and a final written exam. Active participation to the discussion of case studies will be positively evaluated.
