Learning outcomes

The student is familiar with the basics of French language and culture - is familiar with the basic problems and strategies of linguistic mediation and is able to use these in elementary communicative situations, He/she is able to understand and produce written texts and oral discourse.

The student is also familiar with the key concepts of discourse analisis such as textual typology, enunciation, intertextuality, ethos. 

Course contents

Theoretical level

Basic knowledge of topics and purposes of discourse analisi
Basic knowledge of textual typologies

Methodological level

Ability to present facts or ideas in french language and being able to interact with pairs
Ability to indentify and correct errors
Ability to use online resources for linguistic or encyclopedic purposes (searching tools, dictionaries, online encyclopedias, glossaries, comments and spelling in writing software tools)

Linguistic level

Ability to focus on errors due to interferences from italian to french
Ability to identify and correct spelling and grammatical errors
Strengthen writing competencesStrengthen syntactic and lexical knowledge and use in context in relation to the frequent problems

Educational level

Being open to a knew knowledge (source and target cultures)
Being able to reflect about french language and culture

Assessment methods

Students will be asked to identify relevant phenomena about discourse analysis through a text and the following interaction. The text will be extract from online French press and linked with general topics such as education, arts, social matters, or tourism.
Students might also have to complete a grammtical exercise.
