Learning outcomes
The course give to the students fundamentals of the process of
territorial, landscape,environmental and town planning in
rural areas. The main subjects are:fundamentals, reference
regulations andcritical analysis ofplans.
Students will get knowledge of the main issues of territorial
planning, of the historic path that led to the current protection
of landscape and environment, of authorities responsible for
territorial planning and managing, of main contents of territorial,
landscape and environmental plans and of their links.
Course contents
Relations between design and territorial planning. Europe and
landscape: European Landscape Covention, fundamentals of landscape
planning, national and regional territorial and landscape planning,
main town planning regulations in Emilia Romagna Region (RL 47/78,
RL 6/95, RL 20/2000), Galasso Decree and Regional Territorial and
Landscape Plan of Emilia Romagna Region, consolidation act on
cultural heritage, Bologna's Territorial Plan for Provincial
Coordination, town plan and its main technical regulations.

Teaching methods
The course explains fundamentals of the process of territorial,
landscape,environmental and town planning in rural areas, by
means of main concepts and reference regulations.
Mainterritorial, landscape and environmental plans are
examinated following logical and chronological orders, highlighting
their combined efforts towards protection and regulation. By means
of their critical analysis, most relevant and innovative issues in
landscape and territorial planning are investigated.
Assessment methods
The final oral examination tests the student's knowledge about the
whole course.

territorial plans.
