Learning outcomes

By taking the class in Visual Communication, the student will acquire some methods and tecniques for analyzing visual communication, especially the one integrating text and pictures, and that of architectural spaces.

Course contents

An architectural orientation
Towers, bell towers, temples and churches, theatres, castels and fortifications, public buildings, bridges, public spaces, private buildings, museums.
A museum inside and outside. Where to build up a museum? Whom to build a museum for?

(DAMS students) For the half class Philosophy of Languagego to the class Philosophy of Language (1) [Filosofia del linguaggio (1)].

Teaching methods

Lectures, as already said, and besides a class discussion on some texts the
student will be required to read before hand.

Assessment methods

Paper, to be in sent by email 4 days in advance of discussion. The exact schedule of the discussion will be on line 24 hours in advance of the session. The paper includes four pictures, with comments produced availing oneself of the text and the notes suggested and produced in class. The pictures are photos taken by the student, indicating the date and the exact time the photo was taken.
