04223 - Instrumental Analytical Chemistry

Academic Year 2011/2012

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: First cycle degree programme (L) in Chemistry and Materials Chemistry (cod. 8006)

Learning outcomes

The student will acquire the fundamentals on theory and instrumentation of the analytical  separation, spectroscopic and mass spectrometric techniques, and relevant methodologies. The student will be able to choose the most proper analytical methodology to solve analytical problems, to find out their critical points, and to give indications on how to optimize the quality of the analytical results.

Course contents

Fundamentals on theory and instrumentation of the analytical separation techniques such as gas chromatography and liquid chromatography, of the spectroscopic techniques of UV-Vis molecular and atomic absorption and emission, and of mass spectrometry.
