Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student: - knows the semi structured and unstructured data models in relationship with the central constructors of SQL(SML and XQuery; - know the basic techniques of information retrieval and data analysis; - is capable of designing and developping a datawarehouse; - is capable of processing a project using the basic data mining techniques.

Course contents

Structured, unstructured and semi structured data models. The limits of SQL and an introduction to XQuery. The information retrieval systems. The dataware housing and data mining systems.
