Learning outcomes

Orthodontics is a survey of basic orthodontic technique and procedures. Our student should finish the course with a fundamental understanding of cephalometric and case analysis of orthodontic patients in active treatment. They should also feel confident in orthodontic technique manipulation of appliances.

Course contents

Class I malocclusion:  differential diagnosis - ex, non ex  treatment

Class II malocclusion:  differential diagnosis - differential orthodontic, orthopedic and surgical treatment.

Class III malocclusion:  differential diagnosis - differential orthodontic, orthopedic and surgical treatment.

Transverse discrepancies: differential diagnosis - differential orthodontic, orthopedic and surgical treatment.

Early and preventive orthodontics therapy.

Treatment of tooth agenesies.

Treatment of tooth impactions and retentions.

Periodontal orthodontic interrelationship.

Temporomandibular joint disorders, diagnosis and treatment.
