Learning outcomes
The course is intended to deepen the knowledge of grammatical structures of the Polish language and to develop the competences in oral and written communication. CEFR Level of Language Competences to be achieved: A2.
Course contents
1) Morphology. A) Verb. Verbal aspect: formation and use of imperfective and perfective verbs. Past tense and future tense (further notions). Formation and use of the imperative. Conditional. Gerund. Participial clauses. Verbs of motion with prefixes. B) Declination of nouns (supplement). C) The comparative and superlative degree of adjectives and adverbs. D) Declination and use of pronouns (supplement) E) Cardinal numbers (supplement) and ordinal numbers: declination and use.
2) Syntax: impersonal clauses; dependent clauses (supplement); prepositions and adverbs (supplement).

Teaching methods
Classroom-based lessons, tutoring sessions.
Assessment methods
All students (including Polish mothertongue) are required to take the written exam and the oral exam.
Passing the written exam, consisting in a grammar test, a comprehension test and a translation test (4 hours), is preliminary to the oral exam, consisting in: 1) reading and grammatical analysis of a Polish text in order to assess the theoretical competence of the student; 2) a conversation on a topic treated during the lessons.
The final mark will be the mean of the marks of the written exam and the oral exams with the teacher and the tutor.
