Learning outcomes

The course, which is addressed to students in  "Responsabile nella Progettazione e Coordinamento dei Servizi sociali (6 crediti)" and "Occupazione, mercato, ambiente, politiche sociali e servizio sociale (OMAPSOSS)" (3 crediti), aims to analyze the family and children law with special attention to the dissolution of marriage and the parent-child relationships, with a focus on topical question, the latest laws and the main jurisprudencial and doctrine experience.

Course contents

Course contents Laurea Specialistica - Corso di Laurea in Responsabile nella Progettazione e Coordinamento dei Servizi sociali (6 crediti)

Topics will include:
-       An examination of the history and development of the family law.
-       The marriage and the nullity.
-       Domestic relationship: the rights and obligations among family members.
-       Financial aspects of the family: the right of property.
-       Family business.
-       Dissolution of marriage and the related issues of equitable distribution of marital assets, alimony, child custody and child support.
-       The legal recognition and regulation of different types of domestic relationships and families , including de facto and omosexual relationships.
-       Parent-child relationship.
-       Legal status of children, including legal issues arising from artificial insemination and current techniques of assisted reproduction.
-       The adoption.

Topics will include:
-       The family and the law.
-       The marriage and the nullity.
-       Domestic relationship: the rights and obligations among family members.

-       The legal status of children.

Teaching methods

During the meetings will be examinated the legal issues that arise from the regulation of the family, with a special focus on topical issues and the dispute questions in the jurisprudencial experience

Assessment methods

The course will have a final oral exam. Students can present a short paper on selected topic
