Learning outcomes
The social work, analysed from a micro-sociological point of view,
is the theme of this course. Particularly, on the basis of some
European surveys on the interactions between users and “front line”
operators, the aim of the course is to explain the concrete and
daily organization and action forms in some social services.
Course contents
In the first part, the changes happened in the daily users of the
social services will be examined. In fact, the generalization of
the insecurity and the impoverishment and vulnerability processes
put the social worker in front of need conditions of users, who
aren't setting by an administrative pre-defined target-group. From
this point of view, new users represent an innovating challenge for
social work.
In the second part of the course, the interactions between
operators and users will be analysed. A special attention will be
reserved to the micro-contexts of the production of services and
the social representations of need shared by social workers,
through a second reading of the principal elements for the social
work (autonomy, project, contract, introduction, user, etc.).
