Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to: know and know how to use the main tools and techniques for measuring risk factors in living and working environments and / or know how to interpret the results. Know the main industrial technological cycles.

Course contents

I SEMESTER

1) General objective:

Know the main technological cycles of companies in the agri-food sector.

Specific objectives:

- Know the technological cycle for the production of wine, oil, milk, preserves, fruit, egg products.

- Know the technological cycle for the production of bakery products.

- Know the technological cycle for the production of sausages

- Know the technological cycle for the production of cosmetics

- Know the technological cycle for the production of detergent products


2) General objective:
Know the functions and activities carried out by ARPAE on environmental protection issues.

Specific objectives:

- The national and regional system of environmental prevention

- Environmental inspection activities

- Controls relating to the quality of bathing water

- Environmental authorisations: regulatory aspects and administrative procedures

- The promotion of sustainability and collaboration with educational networks

- Environmental certifications

- Territorial planning and the strategic planning process in an environmental agency

- Customer satisfaction and customer requirements surveys, citizen science experiences

- Orientation towards quality and accreditations

- Trophic state, environmental monitoring and marine strategy

- Environment and health

- Climate changes


SECOND SEMESTER

 
1) General objective:

Know the main technological cycles of the industrial manufacturing and construction sectors

Specific objectives:

- Know the technological cycles of building construction and the main equipment used in the sector

- Know the technological cycles of the metalworking sector (machining with machine tools and metal carpentry)

- Know the technological cycle of the wood sector

- Know the technological cycle of the plastic sector

- Know the technological cycles of ceramic and brick production


2) General objective

Know and be able to use the main tools and techniques for measuring risk factors in living and working environments and know how to interpret the results

Specific objectives:

- Know and be able to use the tools and techniques for measuring noise in working environments;

- Know and be able to use the tools and techniques for measuring mechanical vibrations of equipment used in work environments;

- Know and be able to use the tools and techniques for measuring the microclimate in working environments;

- Know and be able to use tools and techniques for measuring ionizing radiation in work environments;

- Know and be able to use the tools and techniques for sampling chemical agents (airborne particles, gases and vapors) present in work environments.

Teaching methods

- Attendance of students in small groups of internship experiences at local production companies for knowledge of technological cycles.

- Attendance of theoretical-practical classroom seminars on the functions and activities carried out by ARPAE on environmental protection issues.

- Attendance of students, in small groups, of internship days at local companies for the measurement and sampling of risk factors (physical and chemical) for health in the workplace.

Assessment methods

The learning assessment of Internship 1 will include:

- Multiple choice written test on corporate technological cycles in the industrial/food sectors.

- Multiple choice written test on the functions and activities carried out by ARPAE on environmental issues.

- Discussion, during the oral/practical test, of a thesis of your choice on one of the production technologies viewed during the internship.

- Questions on the instrumentation and measurement techniques used in the sampling and measurement of the risk factors addressed in the internships.
