00734 - Neurosurgery

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Forli
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Medicine and Surgery (cod. 5709)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student is able to know the fundamental guidelines of diagnosis and therapy of the main pathologies of the central SN of neurosurgical interest such as: malignant and benign brain tumors; cerebral vascular malformations (aneurysms, angiomas and cerebral cavernomas); cranial-brain trauma; degenerative diseases of the cervical spine and medullary tumors; hydrocephalus and intracranial hypertension syndrome. Interactive exchanges with students (questions and answers at the end of each lesson) will evaluate the level of understanding on the part of the students. Particular attention will be given to the early and rapid diagnosis of emergency situations such as cranioencephalic trauma, subarachnoid hemorrhages, intracranial hypertension syndromes in children and adults and their "alarm symptoms".

Preparation on a very limited number of topics covered in the course and analytical skills that emerge only with the help of the teacher, expression in overall correct language → 18-19;
Preparation on a limited number of topics covered in the course and autonomous analysis skills only on purely executive issues, expression in correct language → 20-24;
Knowledge of a large number of topics addressed in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29;
Substantially exhaustive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis and connections, full mastery of the specific terminology and ability to argue and self-reflect → 30-30L.
