02405 - Respiratory Physiopathology

Academic Year 2023/2024

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Ravenna
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Medicine and Surgery (cod. 5708)

Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide the student with the essential elements of the general theoretical and practical knowledge of primary and secondary diseases involving, from a medical point of view, the respiratory system with the aim of providing: - synthetic and simplified elements in relation to the possible methods of functional exploration and diagnostic approach useful in acute and chronic respiratory insufficiency; - general elements for a correct therapeutic approach in the problems involved in patients undergoing respiratory insufficiency.

At the end of the course the student will know the basic notions of the main pathologies of pulmonary interest in their chronic phase and of the instrumental and clinical investigations necessary for their diagnosis and hints of therapy. Thanks also to the participation in scheduled internships and monothematic elective courses, at the end of the course the student has the theoretical-practical bases for recognizing the type of pathology by evaluating its symptoms, clinical signs, laboratory and instrumental tests.
