Learning outcomes

The student acquires the ability to use IT tools as means of processing and communicating information.

Course contents

MODULE I - Basic IT concepts necessary to understand the digital world with particular reference to the health sector. Computerized management of documents: technical, regulatory and documentary indications.

MODULE II - How to organize, process and analyze data with spreadsheets

Teaching methods

The course includes classroom lectures with the aid of multimedia tools for some topics of Module I and practical laboratory activities to be carried out with word processing, calculation and database software on modules II, III, IV, V. There are structured exercises on the various applications covered by the laboratory activity.

Assessment methods

The assessment of the knowledge and skills acquired by the learner takes place through an exam at the end of the course with a mark expressed in thirtieths. The exam consists of two written tests (performed at the computer) and from possible oral interview. Written tests consist of tests with multiple choice questions, multiple answers, true or false affirmation, open answer, association of words, personalized question and / or any exercises to be performed. The first test is aimed at verifying the knowledge of the dase acquired on the basic concepts of computer science in the health sector. The second test aims to verify the skills acquired on the use of software used in laboratory activities. The outcome of the examination (expressed with marks in thirtieths) will be determined overall by the evaluation of the two written tests and from the possible oral interview.
