Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to perform an ocular motility examination in patients with cerebral lesions involving supranuclear pathways. Students should be able to recognize the main forms of conjugate gaze palsies, internuclear ophthalmoplegia, saccadic and smooth-pursuit disorders.
Course contents
Physiology and anatomy of supranuclear gaze control systems - Gaze paralisies, internuclear ophthalmoplegia, neurologic nystagmus, vergences' disorders - Ocular motility disorders of cerebellar origin.
Teaching methods
Videoprojection of slides and movies. At the end of the frontal lectures, students will attend the Neuro-Ophthalmology Service of the Department of Ophthalmology.
