Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students are able to determine the health needs of the population and interpret inequalities in health by understanding possible strategies for effective contrast.

Different approaches to health inequalities: examples from maternal/child health and the health of the elderly with chronic conditions.

Social determinants of health and health inequalities.

Neighborhood and its importance in the development of health inequalities.

The importance of urban planning and the role of smart cities.

Environmental disparities in public health.

Strategies for addressing public health inequalities.


Module 2: Tiziano Carradori and Francesca Bravi

Transitions in the 20th century and the demographic challenge.

The role of Primary Health Care (PHC) as a response to demographic and epidemiological transition

Patient-centered care models and patient health and care needs

Integration between hospital and territory and between health and social care as a response to the challenge of future healthiness.

The "network" as a possible declination of the request for integration of health services

Reflections on the sustainability of the health system of the futur
