Learning outcomes

The students should demonstrate enough knowledge of the basic features of the language and the culture. They should be able to express themselves both in writing and orally with a higher level of fluency compared to the previous level.

Course contents

The aim of the second part of the basic course in Bulgarian language for foreign students is to present all the most important morphological and syntactic categories of the Bulgarian language. The lexical material is sufficient for a more in-depth discussion on different topics, as well as for later studies at a Bulgarian university under the Erasmus program. Bulgarian realities are also presented: historical, geographic, cultural and linguistic heritage. The course is supported by audio-visual materials. Grammatical categories are presented in system tables and charts. In the conversations on various topics and through written assignments, the publicistic, scientific and artistic style is learned. Each unit has three permanent components. Component A introduces vocabulary and grammar, component B. is dialogue or text for understanding. Component B is a text for self-employment that goes into stylistics..

The mediator is presented not as a man who resolves disputes, and as an informed humanist who wants and can "build bridges" between cultures and peoples, using both languages.
Students are assigned tasks in the parallel presentation of comparable areas: values, mentality, culture, health, tourism, education and others. The atmosphere is informal, flexible, presumably informed, active and critical.
The procedure is entirely voluntary and is based on the "role-playing" method.

The positions of the participants can be presented in written, oral or multimedia form.
Mediation most often ends with a public speech or presentation on a topic that has a positive impact following studies, students gain greater clarity lingvokulturologichni questions, listen to opinions on the problem on the other hand, communication between they improve, their relationships have improved, the prerequisites for future career development are created.
