Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to give students some knowledge related to Hispanic language and culture. We will focus on communicative skills and socio-cultural knowledge.

Course contents

The course is divided in two parts:

Part 1: Grammar.

- Alfabeto, fonética y acentuación;

- Los sustantivos (género y número);

- Los artículos;

- Los adjetivos;

- Los comparativos y los superlativos;

- Los posesivos;

- Los demostrativos;

- Las interrogativas y las exclamativas;

- Los numerales;

- Los relativos;

- Los indefinidos;

- Los pronombres personales;

- Los adverbios;

- Las preposiciones;

- Las conjunciones;

- El presente de indicativo;

- Ser y estar / Haber y tener;

- El pretérito perfecto;

- El pretérito imperfecto de indicativo;

- El pretérito indefinido;

- El pretérito pluscuamperfecto;

- El futuro;

- El condicional;

- El imperativo;

- Las oraciones subordinadas (sustantivas, adjetivas o de relativo, adverbiales);

- Las perífrasis (hay que/ tener que/ ir a/);

- Parejas de verbos (ir/venir; traer/llevar; pedir/preguntar);

- El presente de subjuntivo (deseos, probabilidad, esperanza, opinión, temporales);

Teaching methods

The course consists of traditional lectures.

Assessment methods

Written test (90 min.) divided into:

• Grammar multiple choice test 42 questions)
• Multiple choice test concerning contents of Part II (Linguistic and Cultural Mediation)

Final mark will be the average of the marks obtained in the different tests.
