Yellow Kiwi Variety: FM336*

Variety selected for the shape of the fruit, ripening period and organoleptic qualities. The fruits are characterized by having a regular shape with a small indentation in the calyx part.

The selection was identified following a screening of 1400 seedlings. 

  • Tree: the plant has good vigor, the structure of the foliage is tidy, the productivity is medium-high with the presence of 50% single inflorescences. The flower is characterized by having a very long peduncle.
  • Flowering: Dorì period (on average 10 days before Hayward).
  • Ripening period: the fruit ripens in Northern Italy in the last ten days of September. This characteristic allows us to arrive on the market with a fresh product earlier than other yellow-fleshed Kiwis.
  • Fruit: the shape of the fruit is cylindrical, the pulp has a light yellow color which can sometimes remain light green. The fruits weigh more than 100g and have a dry substance of around 17%; the average BRIX degree at consumer maturity is 17.
