Course contents
Entrepreneurship in the Bioeconomy: innovative pathways for sustainable growth
This seminar focuses on entrepreneurship within the Bioeconomy, an emerging field at the crossroads of sustainability, innovation, and economic growth. The Bioeconomy is crucial for addressing global ecological and social challenges such as climate change mitigation, cleaner production processes, economic growth, and new job opportunities.
Introduction to the Bioeconomy and the required new skills
The first unit lays the foundation for understanding the Bioeconomy and its fundamental importance in the European economic and environmental context. Defined by the European Commission as using renewable biological resources and their transformation into value-added products and bioenergy, the Bioeconomy is a key sector for our planet's sustainable future. Practical activities include discussing the sector's challenges and opportunities and highlighting the need to develop new skills, including entrepreneurship, to drive innovation and support sustainable economic growth.
Fundamentals of entrepreneurship and mindset development
This unit aims to provide the theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship, integrating the development of an appropriate mindset to face the challenges and opportunities in the Bioeconomy. Practical activities focus on the psychology of entrepreneurship: what makes an entrepreneur different, including self-administered questionnaires and entrepreneurship orientation tests.
From idea to feasibility plan
Focusing on transforming an idea into a solid business plan, this unit teaches students to develop feasibility plans that effectively meet the needs of the Bioeconomy sector. Practical activities include analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of one's entrepreneurial idea in subgroups.
Leadership and organizational management
This unit emphasizes the importance of leadership and organizational management skills in entrepreneurship. Practical activities involve determining whether leaders are born or made and the personality traits, skills, and expected behaviors of a true leader, including video analysis and self-administered questionnaires.
Case studies and practical applications
The fifth unit is dedicated to testimonials from students who participated in an international entrepreneurship training course, providing real and motivational insights based on their direct experiences, thus enriching the seminar with concrete examples of success and learning.
