Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, students will -know the main career paths in the field of Work, Organizational and Personnel Psychology -be able to collect information and analyse labour market opportunities -be able to promote themselves effectively in the labour market

Course contents

The course offers the opportunity to learn how to identify key features in job research and job analysis, how to build a self-presentation and an effective career profiles aligned with the target job requirements, making them appealing to the job market using also an omni-channel approach. The course will also provide the chance to practice directly in constructing one's personal profile presentation and managing its presentation in the main expected forms, verbal, written, and through the most used web tools and platforms. The course will cover the following topics:

1. Analysis of a job description for the purpose of creating a self or other’s application.

2. Market trend analysis in order to properly assess which channels to activate for an effective job search.

3. Crafting your self-presentation through cover letters and web profiles.

4. Aligning job search tools such as CVs, self-presentation, and web tools according to the target positions.

5. Managing self-presentation both in written and verbal forms.

During the course, materials and articles relevant to the educational and practical learning of the course topics will be provided.

Teaching methods

The teaching methodologies employed to develop knowledge and skills include lectures, discussions, assignments given to students during the course, group exercises, and the preparation and presentation of short self presentation cases by students.
