Learning outcomes

The students will learn about the organization of tissues and organs of the human body. This knowledge will allow them to better understand the subsequent classes of biochemistry, physiology, pathology and pharmacology.

Course contents

HISTOLOGY : epithelial lining tissues, glandular epithelia, connective tissue, adipose tissue

MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM: functions. long, short, flat bones. Skull, vertebra, chest cage, hip bone. Ligaments, tendons, cartilage, muscles. 

INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM : functions of the skin and appendages: epidermis, dermis hyphodermis, sebaceous and sweat glands, nails

LYMPHATIC SYSTEM : functions, white blood cells, the role of the thymus and bone marrow, lymphatic vases , thoracic duct, limph glands

NERVOUS SYSTEM: functions, the neuron, synapses, neuromediators and neuromodulators. Spinal cord and spinal nerves. Brain trunk

Afferent and efferent pathways. Autonomic nervous system

Meninges and spinal fluid

ENDOCRINE SYSTEM: Pituitary, Adrenal Glands, Thyroid and Parathyroid

Teaching methods

Multimedial teaching methos: video and power point presentations.

Assessment methods

Student learning in the Integrated Course “Human Anatomy” will be assessed in written test, evaluated in thirtieths. The test is passed if the mark is equal to or higher than 18/30
