Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will consolidate the instruments to understand the dynamics of nowadays society and its interconnections with fashion.

Course contents

Module deals with mass media communications subjects, from reflections on current media system to media convergence practices. In particular it will be focused the complex relationship between TV series and fashion.

A theoretical and analytical method will be used to study practical examples (study of the TV series, forms and strategies of digital communication, tools of analysis of web audiences).

In addressing these issues, students will be encouraged to work autonomously on cases worthy of interest. On the basis of the tools acquired, they will be able to analyse specific examples selected during class.

Teaching methods

The classroom lectures will be complemented meeting one or more representative scholars.

Assessment methods

Students attending class will have different assessment methods from non-attending students.

Non-attending students:

-The final exam will be oral. It includes the study of the bibliography and the discussion of the written paper.

- The paper must be of 25.000-30.000 characters, spaces included. The subject must be approved by the teacher at least 3 weeks before the date of the exam.

Attending Students:

- Are expected to submit a written research (individual or in pairs) at the end of the lessons (20.000 – 25.000 characters, spaces included).

- A presentation (during lessons).

- Participation in discussions during the lessons will be highly appreciated.

Teaching tools

During the lessons will be offered different types of material (films, audio-visual sequences, fashion websites, fashion magazines, etc.).
