B0331 - Structural Architecture: Forms and Design

Academic Year 2022/2023

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Cesena
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Architecture (cod. 0881)

Course contents

Within the Laboratory, the contribution of the module aims to make the student acquire knowledge in the context of the overall structural conception, in the unitary framework that takes into account the constraints and the complexity of the construction process. The student will acquire adequate knowledge to optimize the integration between the structures, architecture and technological requirements of the museum buildings; identify the structural solutions that optimize performance and reliability.

These objectives will be achieved by illustrating significant examples of museum creations. The path loads inside the structures. The main two-dimensional structures (slabs, plates and roofs with large spans, concrete wall beams and masonry). The three-dimensional structures (domes and vaults of revolution for the roofs of buildings). Analysis of some case studies.
