Teaching methods

The course is articulated in 30 hours, in which the linguistic competences and theoretical knowledge about syntaxis are mainly developed, and in many hours of laboratory activities, that privilege the communicative competences and practical language skills.

The tutorial lessons are part of the course and will be part of the exam program.

Assessment methods

There are two possibilities for taking the exam: partial tests or a single total exam at the end of the course.

PARTIAL TESTS (indicative program):

1. partial test (March) - written test: simple sentence (various complements, gerund, participle, active/ passive sentence, various types of simple sentences, grammatical and logical analysis of the sentence), direct and indirect speech, the use of ЧТО and ЧTOБЫ + one theoretical question - 25% of the final grade;

2.partial test (April) - written test: compound and complex sentences (various subordinates, syntactic synonymy, grammatical and logical analysis of the sentence + a theoretical question) - 25% of the final grade;

3. partial test (May) - practical test (practice language course) - 50% of the final grade.

While the first two partial will focus mainly on grammar and are aimed at verifying the acquired grammatical skills, the third partial will focus on the linguistic assessment of the achieved communicative skills. Written tests have a maximum duration of two hours.

The final grade can only be registered with participation in all three partials.

The students are asked to do a written examination and an oral test. The positive result of the written examination is valid for 4 terms and it is necessary to take the oral exam.

In class: the written test is to verify the linguistic competences, in particular elements of morphology, grammar and syntax, including the ability of written comprehension.

The oral test is focused on the communicative competences, on the ability of oral expression. The first part of the oral test is in Russian and is dedicated to the skill of speaking (level B1/B2). The second part of the oral exam is focused on the linguistics theoretical contents of the course program.

The final grade is the result of the average between the written exam and the oral examinations.

To take the exam of Russian language 3, students are required to take Russian language 2 and Russian Literature 2 first.
