Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student has basic knowledge about prinicipali pediatric diseases of podiatric interest

Course contents

Definition of the various pediatric ages. Neonatal age: characteristic events. The normal newborn: classification according to weight and gestational age, appearance, criteria and methods of physical and neurological development. Neonatal Screenings. Neonatal jaundice. Childbirth trauma. The process of prenatal and postnatal formation of the baby's foot. The use of the podoscope. Flatfoot. Congenital clubfoot. Muscular dystrophies. Acute joint rheumatism. Rheumatoid arthritis. Congenital lesions of the neural tube. Congenital dislocation of the hip.

Assessment methods

Oral examination .The purpose of the oral test is to verify the student's ability to apply their luggage notional and perform the necessary logical-deductive connections.

Graduation of the final grade: Preparation on a very limited number of topics covered in the course and analytical skills that emerge only with the help of the teacher, expressed in an overall correct language → 18-19; Preparation on a limited number of topics covered in the course and ability to autonomous analysis only on purely executive matters, expression in correct language → 20-24; Preparation on a large number of topics covered in the course, ability to make independent choices of critical analysis, mastery of specific terminology → 25-29; Basically exhaustive preparation on the topics covered in the course, ability to make autonomous choices of critical analysis and connection, full mastery of specific terminology and ability to argue and self-reflection → 30-30L
