Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student knows the materials used for functional bandage and the principles for their use in the major skeletal neuro-muscle pathologies. It acquires skills in the packaging of the most widely used functional bands.

Course contents

• Indications, contraindications and limits of functional bandage and neuromuscular taping

• Choice of materials and execution criteria

• Types of functional bandage depending on the pathology and the affected area, or depending on the function.

• The purpose of bandaging in muscular, joint, tendon problems.

• Basic forms: spiral twist, helicoidal, eight-figure, palisade figure, braided figure, butterfly shape, or x-shape.

• Compression bandage, therapeutic bandage, preventative functional bandage, taping.
