Learning outcomes

The main objective of this course of Pharmacology is to provide basic knowledge on the following items:

• phamacokinetics: absorption, metabolism, distribution and elimination of drugs; routes of  administration and pharmacokinetic parameters;
• pharmacodynamics: mechanisms of action of drugs, drug-receptor interaction, dose-response relationship;
• therapeutic index and risk-benefit balance of medicinal products;
• drug interactions and other factors modifying drug effects;
• classes of drugs of interest in dentistry.

- Inhibitors of platelet aggregation, anticoagulants, trombolytics, antihemorragic agents,

- Agents used in osteoporosis

- Bronchodilators and other agents used in asthma and COPD

- Agents used in allergic rhinitis
