Course contents

Develop the skills of oral and written comprehension, oral and written expression;

Deepen the morphological system, linguistic, communicative, and cultural competences.

Transitive and intransitive verbs of motion without prefixes and with prefix po-.

Verbs of motion with prefixes. The use of the main prepositions after verbs of motion.

The verb aspects:  meanings and characteristics of imperfective and perfective verbs.

Formation and use of the imperative.

The comparative and superlative degree of adjectives and adverbs.

Short form of adjectives.

Pronouns: indefinite and negative pronouns.

Direct and indirect speech.

Copulative, coordinating and disjunctive conjunctions.

Subordinating conjunctions: conjunctions of clause, of explanation, of aim and purpose, concessive conjunctions, conjunctions of consequence and condition.

Teaching methods

The course is articulated in 30 hours of frontal lessons, in which the linguistic competences are mainly developed, and in many hours of laboratory activities, that privilege the communicative competences and practical language skills. The tutorial lessons are part of the course and will be part of the exam program.

Assessment methods

The students are asked to do a written examination and an oral test. The positive result of the written examination is valid for 4 terms and it is necessary to take the oral exam.

The written test (4 hours) is to verify the linguistic competences, in particular elements of morphology and word-study, including the ability of written comprehension. 

The oral test is focused on the communicative competences, on the ability of oral expression. The first part of the oral test is in Russian and is dedicated to the skill of speaking on historical, cultural, geo- social aspects of the country.

The second part of the oral exam is focused on the linguistics theoretical contents of the course programme.

The final grade is the result of the average between the written exam and the oral examinations.

To take the exam of Russian language 2, students are required to take Russian language 1 and Russian Literature 1 first.
