Learning outcomes

At the end of the module the student possesses the knowledge relating to taking charge of the person and his family in the context of specific priority health problems with particular attention to preventive, rehabilitative and educational aspects also within the community. Develops the therapeutic relationship as a shared intervention tool in the multidisciplinary field. Identifies, plans and evaluates healthcare interventions and collaborates with other professional figures in diagnostic-therapeutic paths.

  • Psychiatry through the centuries: the origins of psychiatric care
  • The fundamental legislative stages in the psychiatric field in the last century
  • Organization of the Mental Health Department - Pathological Addictions
  • What is mental health/illness: the role of the nurse in mental health education
  • The role and responsibilities of the nurse in psychiatry: the multi-professional team, the therapeutic relationship and the therapeutic project with particular reference to the health budget and recovery as an intervention methodology
  • Aggression in psychiatry: how to deal with it
  • Psychopharmacology: nursing responsibility and healthcare problems
  • Urgency/emergency in psychiatry: healthcare management of the crisis
  • Nursing care in the main psychiatric disorders: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, substance abuse disorders and other addictions, eating disorders, aging disorders
