Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide to the students the key scientific concepts to understand how the central and peripheral nervous systems control voluntary movements and muscle strength under physiological conditions.

The course will therefore address the most common neurological diseases characterized by impaired movement and the role of exercise in the treatment and prevention of the main complications associated with these diseases.

The course will also provide the tools to understand the potential enormous development in research into the therapeutic role of exercise in the field of rare neurological diseases in the coming years.
