Learning outcomes

At the end of the module, the student will be able to understand the concept of the right to health, in its broad legal meaning, to know the organisation of the SSN and the State/Regions division in the exercise of competences, to know the modalities of healthcare provision, the discipline of the most significant healthcare professions and the complex mechanism of professional liability.

Course contents

The Course aims at providing the student with a general, organic and reasoned overview of the subject matter of the specific Course.

In particular, during the lessons, the most significant aspects of the right to health and the National Health Service will be analysed and examined in depth, with particular regard to the organisational, planning and management profiles of public health.

This, with the twofold aim of providing the student with a solid legal awareness of the constitutional dimension of the right to health, together with a basic knowledge of the legislation governing the health services.

Finally, the heterogeneity of the professions involved in health care and, in particular, the nursing profession, as well as the issues related to training, skills and professional responsibility, will be addressed.

The multiple-choice test will focus on topics related to those indicated in the ‘Programme and Contents’ section.

Dissertation

The assignment of the thesis takes place following a formal request by the Student (for this purpose, sending an e_mail to the Lecturer is sufficient) and subsequent interview.

The thesis is assigned, as a rule, on the basis of the chronological criterion, in compliance with the maximum limit set by the Chair, also noting the maturity and attendance of the Course and the convinced expression of interest in the specific Subject.

A copy of the thesis must be delivered to the lecturer at least one month before the relative discussion.
