Teaching methods
Lab work requires regular attendance; therefore, to submit the final paper and qualify, you must attend at least 12 of the 15 classes (equivalent to 24 hours of classroom instruction out of 30).
Lab registration is available by logging in to Studenti On Line (studenti.unibo.it/sol/welcome.htm) with your credentials, clicking the "Prenotazioni" icon, and selecting the lab you are interested in. Registration will be open for all labs starting September 1, 2024, and will close automatically for each lab after the first three sessions have been completed. Only one lab can be registered at a time. Each list will accept a maximum of 40 registrations.
Lab attendance will be verified by signature (or via the online platform for distance learning). Given the unfortunate occurrences of attendance signature forgery in past years, please note that if even a single attendance signature is found not to have been provided in person, the student will be disqualified from the aptitude test for the current academic year. Students will therefore have to wait until the following academic year to be able to attend the Philosophy Workshop again. A similar measure will be taken against anyone submitting exercises copied in whole or in part from others' texts, whether paper or digital. Please see the rules regarding plagiarism published on the degree program website.
Only in cases of justified inability to attend will a substitute program be arranged individually with the instructors responsible for the various modules. These cases are limited to the following:
- Students who work and cannot obtain a study permit to attend the Workshop; those in this situation must notify the instructor at the beginning of the module, documenting their inability to attend with a statement from their employer;
- Students who are on Erasmus or Overseas or other exchange programs; those in this situation must promptly document to the teacher their inability to attend due to their stay abroad.
Assessment methods
The exam will consist of an end-of-course paper on one of the topics covered during the workshop.
The paper consists of a short essay of up to 10 pages that will be discussed during the exam.
Students with learning disabilities (LD) or temporary or permanent disabilities: please contact the relevant University office in advance (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/it). They will be responsible for suggesting any adaptations to the students concerned. However, these must be submitted to the instructor for approval 15 days in advance, who will evaluate their suitability, also taking into account the course's learning objectives.
