Academic Year 2025/2026

  • Teaching Mode: Traditional lectures
  • Campus: Bologna
  • Corso: Single cycle degree programme (LMCU) in Medicine and Surgery (cod. 5904)

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, the student is able to know the fundamental directions of diagnosis and therapy of the main pathologies of the central nervous system of neurosurgical interest such as: malignant and benign brain tumors; cerebral vascular malformations (aneurysms, angiomas and cerebral cavernomas); cranioencephalic trauma; degenerative diseases of the cervical spine and spinal cord tumors; hydrocephalus and intracranial hypertension syndrome. Interactive exchanges with students (questions and answers at the end of each lesson) will evaluate the level of understanding by the students. Particular attention will be given to the early and rapid diagnosis of emergency situations such as cranioencephalic trauma, subarachnoid hemorrhages, intracranial hypertension syndromes in children and adults and their "alarm symptoms".
