Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student: - is able to move autonomously in applying the specific techniques learned independently or within projects organized by the institutions; - knows how to deal with other subjects on the methods of use and documentation of the techniques learned; - knows how to position the specific knowledge learned in different types of service; - knows how to evaluate the limitations and the merits of the technical instruments learned; - knows how to transfer the technologies learned in different contexts by making personal modifications and additions.
Course contents
Through contributions in line with the current literature, and by analyzing practices, methods and tools in the environment of Orientation Psychology, participants will be provided with the necessary skills to plan guidance paths and to propose tools coherent with differentiated orientation needs, also belonging to the “weaker groups” of the population, both through individual and group devices, to which particular emphasis will be given also through exercises, case analysis, also related to national and regional legislation, paying specific attention to the skills that the professional in this field must possess.

Inclusive guidance for vulnerable populations: methodologies, tools, and innovative practices
Guidance means enabling citizens of all ages, at any moment in their lives, to identify their abilities, competencies, and interests; to make informed decisions regarding education, training, and employment. For people in situations of fragility - who have lost important reference points such as their life project, who cannot rely on services, who are difficult to reach, or who have been "excluded" from work contexts - guidance requires specific approaches and innovative methodologies.
The laboratory aims to provide knowledge, basic competencies, and tools for developing and constructing guidance projects according to the principles of empowerment, proactivity, and user responsibility, in contrast to excessively paternalistic intervention methods.
Specific thematic areas:
- Guidance methodologies for people with complex employability: analysis of specific needs, personalized approaches, integration between professional and life projects
- Adapted assessment tools and competency portfolios: questionnaires, motivational interviews, competency portfolios for complex situations
- Group guidance for vulnerable populations: specific dynamics, conducting techniques, managing resistance and relational difficulties
- Territorial networks and inter-institutional collaboration: social services, employment centers, third sector, social-health integration
- Legislation and active labor policies: specific measures for vulnerable populations, funding opportunities, training and social inclusion internships
Students are advised to familiarize themselves with the topics covered before participating in the laboratory by consulting the recommended texts. The instructor will provide additional specialized documentation, case studies, and design materials during the laboratory.

Teaching methods
- Introductory lectures with instructor slides to provide the theoretical-methodological framework
- Reading and analysis of regulatory documents with guided discussion between students and instructor
- Analysis of real cases from professional practice
- Participatory small group activities aimed at defining a project hypothesis based on a concrete case provided by the instructor
- Practical exercises using guidance tools
- Sharing of completed work with feedback in large group and collective discussion
Teaching materials will be made available on the course's Virtual platform.
Students with DSA or disabilities: it is recommended that they contact the responsible University office (https://site.unibo.it/studenti-con-disabilita-e-dsa/en/for-students) as soon as possible. The request for adaptation must be submitted in advance (15 days before the exam date) to the lecturer, who will assess the appropriateness of the adjustments, considering the teaching objectives.
Assessment methods
Connection between examination and educational objectives: The evaluation aims to verify students' ability to autonomously apply learned methodologies in designing guidance interventions, demonstrating mastery of tools and collaborative work skills.
Examination structure: Adherence and active participation in the pathway will be monitored. The final outcome of the learning experience consists of presentation and feedback of the small group work in the plenary meeting with the large group.
Criteria for achieving suitability: No grade out of thirty is provided, but rather the achievement of a pass/fail grade; attendance at least 5 out of 6 meetings is required (for this laboratory).
Additionally, to obtain suitability, students must demonstrate:
- Active and continuous participation in laboratory activities
- Ability to collaborate effectively in group work
- Competence in designing guidance interventions consistent with target user needs
- Appropriate use of presented tools and methodologies
- Ability to present and argue the design choices made
Does not achieve suitability: students who do not obtain attendance at least 5 out of 6 meetings, do not actively participate in group work, or demonstrate inability to apply the suggested methodologies.
Registration for the laboratory through AlmaEsami is required.
