Learning outcomes
Students will become acquainted with the most significant aspects of the right to health and personal rights, considering fundamental principles and features of the national legal system and the institutions responsible for adapting the right to the changing lives of citizens.
Course contents
The course aims to analyse and explore the most significant aspects of the right to health, introducing the principles and fundamental features of the national legal system and the sources of law, while reflecting on the legal regulation of biological phenomena essential to human life.
Due attention will also be given to the complex issues of education and professional liability.
By way of example, the lectures will address the following topics:

Protection of health and constitutional principles

The doctor–patient relationship

Self-determination: end-of-life, identity, and individual rights

Privacy, precaution, and new technologies. Scientific research and experimentation

The lecture presentations, supplemented by personal notes, may provide valuable support for the study of the subject.
Teaching methods
The course will include both traditional lectures and complementary activities designed to encourage student engagement.
The lectures will provide a systematic presentation of the topics covered in the syllabus outlined above.
In-depth seminars will also be offered for students who wish to explore specific issues in greater detail.
Assessment methods
The lectures will be held during the second semester. Therefore, students will be eligible to take the exam starting from the summer session.
The final assessment consists of a written test, evaluated on a pass/fail basis.
The test is a single quiz for the entire integrated course and consists of 20 multiple-choice questions and 1 open-ended question.

Supplementary teaching materials related to the lectures will be made available on Virtuale.
