Learning outcomes
At the end of the integrated course, students master the framework of the social determinants of health; they have the skills to investigate health as a complex bio-social process; they master the possible interactions between social and medical sciences in the field of health promotion and health equity; they are familiar with the principles of PHC and community approaches and are able to reflect on their practicability in the Italian context, as elsewhere; they are familiar with the global health paradigm as a critical perspective for the investigation of our global predicament.
Course contents
The integrated course is organized as a cycle of seminars and is open to students of all Degrees.
The topics covered will be:
Culture and health from an anthropological perspective
Social determinants and health inequalities
Globalization and the commercial determinants of health
Workshops on: Social determinants and health inequalities
Primary Health Care approaches and strategies
Digitalization in primary care
Health promotion
Workshops on health promotion
Mental health and inequalities
Prison and health
Migration and health
Workshops on Comprehensive Primary Health Care approaches
In order to acquire training credits, it is necessary to attend at least the 80% of the lectures, have the course in his/her own Study Plan (or LA) and take an oral interview based on the bibliography indicated.
