Learning outcomes
At the end of the module, students will be able to interpret contemporary visual communication phenomena and techniques using basic methodological tools. They will also have knowledge of the basic elements of typographic composition in relation to: geometry as language; the visual field; sign systems; and the design of two-dimensional artifacts. Students will also have knowledge of the fundamental elements of color theory, font selection, and graphic layout, as well as the skills to transfer what they have learned into a communicative artifact.
Course contents
Topics covered include:
• typographic composition and layout,
• visual field structure and graphic space organization,
• use of color and color relationships,
• management of raster and vector images,
• preparation of final artwork for printing and digital output,
• graphic adaptation to different formats and media: publishing, social media, promotional materials, posters, leaflets, display panels.

Assessment methods
Learning assessment
The Elements of Graphic Design T course includes ongoing assessment through individual exercises (first part of the semester) and the completion of a group project (second part of the semester). The assessment takes into account visual effectiveness, technical accuracy, design consistency, and critical reasoning skills.
