Course contents

This course is meant to introduce students to experiences aside from those generally provided by academic courses. These experiences can include traineeship in research institutes, primarily at the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF) - Osservatorio di Astrofisica e Scienza dello Spazio (OAS) and Istituto di Radioastronomia (IRA) in Bologna. The fields comprise data analysis, acquisition of new competences in observational, numerical, and/or theoretical astrophysics, instrument calibration, scientific communication.

Readings/Bibliography

Bibliography will be accurately chosen by the tutor in charge of Internship, depending on the chosen subject.

Teaching methods

Teaching will be primarily focused on the topic chosen for the  Internship and will be provided by the professor/researcher in charge of the activities.

Assessment methods

The readiness of the student's preparation in the chosen topic will be evaluated by the researcher/professor in charge of the Internship activities via daily interactions, weakly meetings and, possibly, a final written report (optional). Student's knowledge in the chosen field will be evaluated in terms of capability of presenting - in a scientifically robust and appropriate way - the main discoveries and outcomes of the project, placing it in an extended context.
